Default Newbie DX7s dual elevator and dual Aileron setup

I am building a Skyline Breitling 540 1880mm.
I have all 5 servos mounted. 2 aileron, 2 elevator and one pull pull rudder. I have DX7s transmitter, AR6600T 6 channel receiver, Castle Phoenix edge 100 esc w/bec. A 110 Eflite motor.
I have the Aileron right wing plugged in to AIL spot on the receiver.
I have the left Aileron plugged into the AUX1 spot on the receiver.
I have the right elevator plugged into the ELV spot on the receiver.
I have the left elevator plugged into the GER spot on the receiver.
Rudder plugged into RUD on the receiver.

My issue is getting the transmitter setup to work all the installed servos. I have read the manual for the transmitter and am clueless as to how to set the DX7s up. I have got the model and the wing type setup, but getting the AUX1 to act like a left Aileron and the left Elevator to act like an elevator while plugged into GER.

Your help will be appreciated on my issue.

Thanks
Ken

Not familiar with your TX Ken. I assume you have the mix set to 100% on both. If you were doing a Futaba you have to set that gear channel to null before it will operate as a linear mix. Otherwise it thinks its for gear and will only go full up or down.
Someone that knows that radio should chime in.

Wing type 2 ail
tail type 2 elevators
look at the monitor
Plug the servos in where it shows you, don't worry about what they are labeled.

I have checked the plug in's and they are correct. My ar6600T has seven slots.
1 bind and data
2 thr
3 ail
4 rudder
5 ele
6 GER
7 Aux1

I will still need to do a mix on aux1 and on GER to get them to be left aileron and left elevator. And I can't get it to work.

As said in previous post.
You have to use the wing type function to set the proper mix for wing and tail.

I think you only need one elevator ,an not on the main wing ,at the most in my opinion ,you would only gain a faster upward or downward attack ,so you only need
the tail elevator!
An only use the ailerons on the main wing!

Can you describe in what way each control (Ali / elv) are not working in the right way. Nothing works/they work but in wrong direction???

The monitor on the tx shows 7 positions
Bind/Data
THR
Ail
ELE
RUDDER
Gear
Right ELE
Right AIL
It can't be setup this way, because that would be moving all plugs up one position and the thr would end up in the bind/data port.
I am thinking I could buy a Y cable for the Elevators? But, I would still need to mix for the ailerons and that isn't working very well either. This should not be this complicated. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. I have tried several different mixes with zero luck. I have gotten to the point where I go to monitor on the TX and move the sticks and everything on the monitor shows perfect, then I bind the rx and tx to except the new mix and half of it works.

TX is setup
model select: model 3
model type: airplane
Model name: changed to Corvus
wing type: chose dual ail and dual ele
switch select: trainer inh, flap inh, f mode inh, mix inh, gear inh, knob inh. My understanding this shuts off all external switches on the TX.
Mixing: mix #6 Ail master /Gear slave, rate 100%,trim inh, swn
mixing: mix #5 Elevator master/ Lelevator slave, rate 100%, trim inh, swn.
Monitor: I try the sticks....Elevators work as they should. Ailerons and gear move when trying ailerons.
Plug in battery...bind TX to RX....using sticks Left aileron works also left elevator moves with left aileron when using aileron stick movement, right ail does not work at all, right elevator does not work when using elevator stick movement, left elevator works.

You cant Y the ELEV. They will move opposite directions. You could Y the AILEs? On a Futaba ( sorry that's all I use) we Y the battery to the throttle.

After doing some testing I see that one of the elevator channels is on ch7 . You only have a 6ch receiver. Best thing to do is get a 7ch or greater receiver. You won't have any problems then.

I am looking at Lemon 10 channel receiver with sat. They are about a 1/3 the price of Spektrum. Anyone use these?
I was looking at a ar8000 but reviews said they have had issues and people have lost $600.00 planes when using it.
Turns out that the issue was when it first came out, has since been upgraded and works great. I am buying one.

I have purchased an AR8000 spektrum and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I sure hope this simplifies things.

Default Help!!!!!

Okay, got new ar8000 installed. Bind works, ailerons work opposite of each other. Rudder works. Elevators both work but work like ailerons opposite of each other.

DX7s is not seeing the receiver as it is setup. Not showing Aux1, aux2 or aux3 on monitor screen. I am not able to mix or set master/slave, because aux1 through aux3 not visible as an option.

Yesterday when doing setup of dx7s to ar8000 it did show the aux1 - aux3 on the setup screen and let me mix, but the elevators were not working correctly, so I reset the model and went to start over. Now no AUX1-AUX3 options showing.
Today I set it up with what I have with no mixing.
Monitor on DX7s shows
Thr
RAL
Rel
RUD
GER
LAL
LEL
Wing type set to dual ailerons and dual elevators
Plugged battery in and bind.
Ailerons work opposite of each other
Elevators work opposite of each other so no lift just roll
Rudder works as it should

Am I suppose to use a Y cable for the Elevators to get them to work the same?

Receiver is plugged in as follows:
Bind plugged in bind/data
Thr plugged in ESC
Right Aileron plugged into AIL
Right Elevator plugged in to ELE
Rudder plugged into RUD
Nothing plugged into GER
Left Aileron plugged into AUX1
Left Elevator plugged into AUx2
Nothing plugged into AUX3

Did a firmware update to DX7s yesterday thinking this might resolve some issues, now at 1.03

Am I missing something here? This is getting frustrating to say the very least. Your assistance is appreciated.

Ken

You don't need any Y harness. You should be good with what you have now.

Try reversing channels until you get the directions you want.

Disconnect the motor before you do any servo reversing. A guy in our club got his finger cut off that way . He though he had change the rudder but instead changed the throttle.

Reverse the elevator servo that's going the wrong direct.

Get mixing out of your head. You don't not use P-mix to setup dial ailerons or elevators. If you do the result is mixing that doesn't work right and trim only working on one surface.

Okay, I finally figured it out. Ailerons move opposite and elevators move together. I reversed the servo on the left elevator and took the mix out of the setup and now everything works as it should.
Thanks to all that helped.

Default more questions

I have a noisy servo on my right Aileron.

Rudder does not go equal distance from left to right.

I would have thought someone would have created a video on how a DX7s works and how to adjust using the different menus. Plenty of them start to explain things and then they go off on all the different ways to do something and never get back to showing you. I have read the damn manual, all 29 pages of it and went to the spektrum site and read setups and my TX does not work the way they said it would. I don't get messages asking me if I am sure I want to do this or that, it just does it.
Half the crap I watch on youtube are people explaining how this or that works but it takes them forever to spit it out. So, I stop watching because it really doesn't sound like they believe what their saying. A lot of ah, oh, ummm, reminds me of Bueller, Ferris Bueller with long pauses in between what they are trying to explain.
Okay I am done complaining for now..lol
Thanks again for all your help, you are appreciated.

Default I have finished the 1880mm Skyline Corvus Breitling

I have finished the 1880mm Skyline Corvus Brietling. Mounted the prop with the new spinner, lit it up and everything works as it should. I could put some decals on it, but I think it looks fine with out them.

Thanks to all that helped me through the build.
You all are appreciated.
