If its the stock motor and 3S then you best get someone with large hands. You will need a very hard toss if not then best to run a bit and toss her. If someone is launching for you make sure they launch her STRAIGHT and not UP, she will stall if its a 3S set up on stock motor. Also, hold a little bit of UP elevator. I think I need to go get No. 2 this week. My LHS sells them as the combo but someone just took the motor and fan unit from them, so I got a kit there!

if you have a computer radio, mix 4mm down ailerons with 3.5mm up elevator for launch.

im 62 years old, flying all stock, using a xcite 3 cell 3000 mah battery 20c with 30c burst.

i hand launch this thing all day, no running, no mixing in anything, just a nice upward toss and this thing goes.

great plane, im having a ball with it. here are some pics with the lights on each wing.

I got No. 2 ready and she will maiden tomorrow morning. Anyone noticed that this plane seems to be pretty nose heavy? No. 1 was the same. I did use the 2 ball bearings but its still nose heavy. With my 4S 2,500 pack its going to be worse.

Also how do you guys seal the fan unit? CA? If you CA it then access will be an issue later on, I am using glass tape to hold it together for the moment. Any suggestions? Thanks!

yea, im using packing tape, you want to be able to get back in there, just make sure you seal all the seams.,

yea, my friends is really nose heavy on 4 cells, i launch it for him, just more of an up angle to get it started, fast as heck.

Tomme ... I sealed it with packing tape, no leaks too. She is ok on 4S but again its hot and humid here. You tried diving her really steep and then pulling level for a low pass near you? Can hear a whooooooooosssss ... as the air rushes into the ducts.

Does anyone know if the Twister is available for sale in Canada? I wanna get one because I am looking for a somewhat slower EDF than the others I have in my collection.

A friend of mine is running HET6904 fan with 2W25 Typhoon on 6s2200 25c packs, we put two 3s packs together and I rewired with 6s balance lead. He loves it, rekons its insane, short flights but the weight is perfect. Gonna try and get video of it soon.

Whissel ... careful, that set up pulls 60A WOT and it can kill the packs ...

I tried the same set up ... not really keen on it now. A lot of power but no speed, verticals are good. I used 2,500 mAh packs and the AUW made her fly like a pig ... I will probably go back to 4S, that for me is the best balance between speed and handling. I pulled 1,300W on freshly charged packs. You can read my so called review of the plane on 6S.

Well I Just finished my second twister. My previous one I flew from when they first came out till last week. Recorded over 1000 flights and used it to test engine setups. It flew like it was on rails. Hand launch with a toss, sweet plane.
I still have the original stock motor and fan which I used a Evo 3700 4C.
No problems like some have with the motor geting fried. The last year or so I mainly flew it with a Midi 480, 20W and the 3700 Evo 4C.
Anyway this new one has a rudder, clear canopy, same power package.
So time for test flight!

flyrcjets ... your plane is lovely. I must say you have good throttle management not to burn the stock motor on 4S, most of us get carried away I guess.

So I maiden'd the twister today and it flew just like the other, so I should be good for a few years!

flyrc - the only reason yours is not fried is because you are disciplined and there is throttle management. I did well on the first flight with stock motor and 4S, after that when I heard the high pitched whine, well ... you know what happens.

Hi Guys: I have a video of my Twister that I took yesterday. It's a stock set-up with the exception of my painting it red because I thought the gray was just too boring. The video is not the greatest since I can't zoom the lens once I start the video. Oh, and I had the camera taped to the bill of my hat. I love this plane

Well I flew the Twister today with the Wild Beast and CC 125 ESC, 4 cell Evo 3700 and not good, slower then stock, so it must be you need to run a 5000mah pack and turn up the current

Just recieved a new motor from Pete at Hoffmans Magnetics. The people there are great to deal with and extremely helpful.
I'll post when I get this in the Twister and do some flying!
