Barry, do you still have the 1.25, just curious/ Thanks
I haven't flown my FG 11 yet, but breaking it in was a one 16 oz tank affair and in an hour it didn't burn all of it.
Cap, is the Air Tractor similar to this Piper Pawnee, The Eureka Pawnee may be my winter project. OK, I looked it up, nice plane. Do the cost about a half million or so? Thanks

Yes the air tractor is the yellow one. I love the PT-6 power plant. Sorry for rhe poor pic it was late when we got done, of course it was late when we started. Its getting dark quick, its getting closer to build season. I wish I could have flown more this summer.
You and me both. I flew some yesterday, but flying alone sucks, so packed it up after the second flight. Only burned 5 ounces of gas. My friend lost his private flying field, so we no longer fly together, and that was always a lot of fun as we chase each other.

Hobbsy, after ogling the Tractor and its lovely pilot (not necessarily in that order) I saw some writing on that picture about modifying transmitters for Special Needs pilots. Was that from RCM, or from some other magazine? I would like to track that article down if possible. It could be useful to someone in my Club.
Thanks,
and thanks again for the picture of the pilot,
Bob

That picture came from the Eureka Aircraft web site, I have a nuclear stress today, but I'll do some digging when I can. I'd like to get that kit for a winter project.

Just be thankful that you don't have spinal issues between T6 and T8. The pain it can cause sucks, and there is no remedy for it either due to what passes through that section. It causes severe chest pains, as if you are having a heart attack.
Agreed, have to take Nexium, or Prilosec every day or I get attacks of it myself. Getting old sucks. Born into this world drooling and in diapers, and go out much the same way.

FlyerinOKC, just think if your doctor was a proctologist........... (Gives new meaning to the term "18 holes a day")!
Just acquired another 100, (stole the one out of the Seawind for the P47) and a 125a for the Gee Bee Z slated for the build table this cold season.

Acdc that sounds like an old batch of fuel you are running in your fg11? as in not freshly mixed petrol and oil.If you don't do it already ask your wife to buy you some fine coffee filters.I'll bet you a carton you won't be able to strain 500mils of fresh petrol thru one, make sure you have a good look at what's in the bottom cone of the filter.Gas engine carby filters have fine mesh and i've seen people at the field retuning gas engines because of that, spoils your flying day.
Barry i hope you got out of florida ok i saw the pics and read the stories here.
Amen brother i try to sneak a few ducati pics in and that dry ducati clutch sounds like a big tin of nuts and bolts being shaken, not to everyones liking but i love it combined with a set of nice pipes and no earplugs.I'm hoping barry caves in and rides a duke one day
It is old fuel, it's clean but has a much higher oil content now. There's only a half tank left so new fuel is on the way. 91 Octane ethanol free with Amsoil 20:1. I wont be able to contain it with new fuel! That LT will be dancing.

Between the 91 and the 1.00, which has a better power to weight ratio?
Jim
Nice engine and there was some previous discussion here about them,i think it was sr telemaster.I've never used a torque wrench on any saito. The fg84 like my fg57 flat twin 200r3 or 182 flat twin is unlikely to backfire like the singles do and chuck a prop over the fence.Plastic props have a serrated face you can gently nip the main nut up,don't tighten the jam nut too much it does'nt help and can fracture the nut if you overdo it.On a saito single if it backfires big the prop is gone, don't matter how long your spanner was and how much you heaved on it.I'm assuming you will fit a wooden prop.Check it for tightness a few days later or after a flying session initially because timber compresses a bit more than plastic. What i'm saying is don't be tempted to tighten it to death eg...strangling the ex wife type thing
