Welcome to Club SAITO !
Thanks the pattern guys kinda make sense way back but i hav'nt had to pump fuel, apart from exhaust pressure,to any of my saitos, violent aerobatics does not upset them...ok sometimes you lose an aeroplane
Hey,speaking of ugly mufflers that j-tec's gotta be a frontrunner right?

Of course, the wheezing is only heard at hand turning speeds, and even then, mostly when the pressure side is not restricted as it is in operation.

Dave, the hatches came with my ARF VQ P-40, I hate them !, I know it more aerodynamic and cleaner to look at, but I much rather, just have the top of the servo sticking out of the wing.
the top hatch with the JR servo is for the ailerons, and the bottom one with the HiTech servo is for the flap, funny in how the flap's linkages passes threw the wing sheeting not the hatches.
the servo mounts on all 4 hatches came made from balsa, I replaced the ones for the ailerons with bass, I figure the flaps will be used much much less so I left them as balsa
BTW, that's a neat little Tatone muffler on the 120, tell us how it sounds when you run it, and what is the engine with no valves, it looks brand new
Jim
props are funny, they will be good to you, but you start messing with them they will bite you, as I know for a fact

SuperTigre 3000 with Bowman ring, the ring not quite broken in. I sold this one.
That is a SuperTigre 4500 with a Davis Diesel conversion head, it turn s a 22x12 at 6,600 rpm, even with a totally wrecked piston it has awesome compression with a Frank Bowman piston ring. At some point in it's life it ate it's wrist, pin circlips.. It has a new sleeve but I never could get a piston. The piston has grooves plowed in it but they are shallow.
I am about to receive a couple of Saito .82's, I am really looking forward to that. I gotta go cut wood, approximately 50' of it 20" in diameter.

I've been using rings from Gavis in England. He sells VIA eBay. Excellent prices and quality . His service and shipping are top notch.
"
Turned from fine grained Meehanite cast iron bar, Piston ring blank is then split and gapped, Ring is heat treated to relieve stress and set the uncompressed ring gap, then lapped to the correct thickness and finally turned and lapped to the finished bore size for a perfect fit.
I have many other makes and model of Piston Rings for older and newer engines, if there are any your after give me a shout... i may just have one!"

Gary, I received a Visitor's PM, I didn't know that was possible, so I just want to make sure it was you ??
BTW, I bought a new ring for my OS 70 Heli engine (it's going in a plane, I turned down the head), the color of the old ring is Chevy SB cast iron , but the new one is the same color as the one you posted
Jim
you know, if it's not 3/8 of something it's 7/16 of something else, and if it's happens not to be that, then it's something else

has any one tried a plastic 13X10 on their Saito FA100, if so how well did it run ??,,, Pete, how about you, did you try one on your Midget Mustang ??,, buddy
I have that new Worlds Model .60 size Midget Mustang (59" span), and I'm thinking of not punting my OS 70 in it.. so I was thinking about putting a Saito 100 in it, yet a 14X8 (or longer) is too long of a prop for this plane, even a 13" prop is kind of long but it would be OK, also I want all the speed I can get with all that pitch pitch,
as long as the 100 is loaded with all that pitch it should run well, and accordingly to Mr, Lee's test it should turn a Zinger 13X10 around 9.100, yet an APC should turn some 300 RPM higher
Saito FA-100
Jim
if it's not going fast enough, that means you have to go faster

I did some horse tradin with Capt. Crunch and low and behold he sent me a really nice Saito .82-B, the other is nice also and is an early version. Thanks, Cap.
I haven't run any other than a 15 x 6 on the 1.00.
