RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Looking for an approximate fuel burn rate for a 150 with zinger 18x6 prop buring 15% 4 stroke fuel. I have this in a cg monster pitts with a 17 ounce tank and just want to rough guess my flight time. Plane is not a good glider....

bkrfrmhell,
I have a 1.50 turning a 17x6 Xoar at 9000, well leaned... I have a 16oz tank and get 10 minute plus flights with IMAC style routines and still have 2 to 4 oz's of fuel leftover... I'm not sure how a 18x6 would effect this engine, seems like that would be a lot of prop for a 1.50.....
Good Luck,

That's even better than I thought. 18x6 is one of the recommended props and i happened to have one. 16x8 would probably be best. I want thrust, not alot of speed.

bkrfrmhell, i run a 8 pitch and it just right for the CG monster, i ran a 18x6 on my 180 and i really didnt like it, made the plane feel spongy[&:]

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I recently picked up an UltraStick 60 ane a Saito 100. I wanted to add a velocity stack / bru-line filter to keep the mess down, fuel economy up, and also keep any undesirables out of my new engine. I was doing a little reading around here an and some people say the stack works on the 100, and other saying the opening it is too small. What's the deal? Also do you recommend the course or fine bru-line?
Thanks,
Dave

Ernie, it's a new product that I'm wringing out that I'm pleased with, on my Saito 1.00 it was good for 250+ additional rpm and a cool sound and in my opinion a cool look. I came down with an intestinal flue yesterday that has ravaged our community, I started to test it on the .82 but need to do more.

Very nice. I'm wondering if this would fit where I have my muffler right now. Can you turn it around whichever way you want like the stock muffler?

Well I'll be derned. That is a cool looking muffler. Have they come up with more efficient internal baffling, straight through, or?
Thanks,
Ernie

What is the weight of the muffler compared to the stock Saito 1.00 and .82 muffler? Does it produce enough backpressure to efficiently operate IB regulators?

RVM, Ernie, and Tom,
The TurboHeader weighs about 2 oz. That is 1/4 oz. less than the stock FA-100 muffler. It is a free flow design that does not require an internal baffle. It has a great tone. The tone is a little sharper on the .82. There is a slip in baffle being tested for those that want a quiet muffler. I don't think it is needed. There is plenty of tank pressure so running a regulator should not be a problem.
More info will be available soon.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hello Saito fans. I'm installing my first Saito in a MoJo 60 and plan to use a velocity stack. Here is a pic of the stack as installed on the engine, and the engine installed on the plane.
For anyone not familiar with the MoJo, it's a profile plane and I'm just at the stage where I need to fit the engine. I'm still quite a ways from finishing it up. I have two questions for you guys. First, there is only about 4 to 5 mm of clearance between the stack and the fuse. Is this adequate or might it affect the engine's ability to draw in air. Second, there is lots of daylight between the stack's mounting place and the face of the carb's barrel. I'm guessing this is normal, but wanted to make sure I wasn't supposed to seal this with RTV or something. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Erik, you need an O-ring between the carb and the Velocity stack, it will be ineffecticve with that gap you see through.
Jim, I hope the baffle comes today and I'll finish up testing the .82.

out where i live i never could find the right o-ring so i went ahead and used a small amount of black rtv on the edges and that was many many flights ago and everything worked out fine.

Hobbsy,
Hope you are feeling better soon and thanks for posting your info on the TurboHeader and sharing it with us. Eager to hear more of your results and I agree, it looks good and sounds really sweet and the extra rpm's are a bonus!

Hi
How are you guys diong.
I like the looks of the velocity stack and i was thinking about using it on my cap. Does anybody know were to buy one and about how much they are. Also does anybody know the difference in performance between a Pitts Style Muffler and the Velocity Stack.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Scott

The velocity stack increases your fuel economy and keeps some of the mess out of the engine compartment. It would be hard to measure any significant performance improvement.
Four strokes are not as sensitive to tuned intakes and exhaust as are two strokes.
Few people use Pitts type mufflers on four strokes
Here's where you get them or at your local hobby shop
