You need to know what the basic shape is at a couple of points before you can interpolate the intermediate sections. Often sections transition from one shape to another. Without at least a few true sections it's just not possible to do more than guess at the true shape. You can use pictures that show shadow lines and other clues to arrive at a decent approximation but it won't hold up in world class scale competition. Do a search on "Mike James" and his "plastic model section procedure". I think he also has it detailed on his web site. I think you can link to the site through the member information listing. Or perhaps Mike will drop by.... :D PS:- I went to check and see if I had the right guy for that info. It is Mike and here's the link to his page since I was there anyway... http://homepage.mac.com/mikejames/plastic_to_rc_site/plastic_to_rc01.html rukevin, the tail moment can mean lots of different things but when considering the Tail Volume Coefficient for finding the aircraft neutral point as in stability calculations it is the distance between the 25% chord points of the Mean Aerodynamic Chords of both the wing and stabilizer (including elevator). Some folks just call it the distance between the wing's trailing edge and the stab's leading edge but that's not a proper answer at all and is useless for any form of comparison other than for THAT model only.

(3/14/2004 10:02 PM) sorry, meant no offense with the terminology. in my opinion, again its sometimes challanged. its hard to be specific as not all 3 vu's show sections, particully the old planes. assuming that you are working on an older REAL plane. try to locate photos and eyeball it from there. the only person that can challenge you is a better expert with more documentation, if that happens, be nice and ask them for assistance on your project and in most cases they will help you. if I can help send me a EMAIL direct. what are you planning on building? dick
