My DA100 weighed 7lbs with DA mufflers and ignition. The new DA100 is lighter.

The new DA-100 is 5.4 ounces lighter, both weighed on the same scale. New one without ignition and mufflers is 5 lb 9 ounce.

Whoever already has this engine.... anyone have mounting hole dimensions, or a template? What size bolts are suggested?
My Ultimate firewall is ready to set.
Thanks.

Same bolts/dimensions as a DA100. I used 6mm bolts and it bolted straight into where my DA was.

Thanks!
Also, found a template in Great Planes, Technical Info, for their Chapman Cap 232... it shows hole spacing as a vertical rectangle, narrower/taller than it is wide. Sound right?

That's correct. Here's a template for the DA100.

DA100

Got another 4 flights on the DL/EF YAK combo today. Using a non-synth 32:1 for the break in and engine is running well. Only real observation is that it tends to sag just a little in right KE, probably an air flow issue over the vent hole in th carb, so will try and put a plate over it to see if that helps.

I have always used 24oz on DA100's. I plan to use the same on the DL100. Gives good 12 minute flights with plenty in reserve.

I use 14oz tanks on DA50, and DL50.. Same results gives good 12-15 minute flights with plenty left for landing.

Note: I'm rarely in the throttle... mostly below 1/2 throttle... If you fly IMAC sequence, a bigger tank might be the ticket.

We have the DL-100's in stock now (for a day or two anyway) and have ran one on a test stand and what a great engine this is going to be. The carburetor is made by Taizhou EMAS Machine Co. LTD of China not Walbro as advertised. From the way it runs this may be better than the Walbro. Looking forward to getting this engine on a 35% SD Modle Yak 54 and see what it will do. Looks like another hit for DL.

You will also notice on this DL-100 engine that on the crankcase it says DL-100 but on the jugs it says DL-50, I would guess that the same jug from the 50 will fit the 100?

I am interested in what rpms guys are getting as I feel my DL100 is on the low side? I am using a 3W 26x10 on KS cannisters, 32:1 oil mix and getting 6300-6400 rpm. I have leaned the top end to its max I believe, now I expect the numbers to get better, but not getting anywhere near Bob's hi 6000 on his Vess, obviously different props etc.

Have you played with the header length at all? Those are some pretty low numbers for sure.

Just over 6000 RPM is what we are getting with our demo and I think that will be normal out of the box, it will get better.

3W's props load more than most other props in their size. As mentioned, you could be killing your motor with the cannister set-up/header length you are using. Try running it open exhaust to compare.

I talked with Bob this morning, using that telephone number. I think he's packing/inspecting engines.... it's a good number, though.

Does anyone have any numbers on stock exhaust? Don't mean to be a party pooper but with 2 people saying 6000 with a 26x10 you would be further ahead to spend $50 and get a DA 85 and 500 rpms. I am curious if the headers are wrong length and killing power.

Jake - some of us may WANT the DL twin, choosing it over other available engines for a variety of reasons. Your suggestion to "buy DA" is valid if you have both the DL 100 and the DA 85. Let us know your prop and tach/exhaust settings on your runs with these engines, so we'll have more information.

In Tom's video at Valley RC it is running on stock exhausts JXK 27x10 and he says that they are now getting close to 6200 having tweeked the needles a bit more.

I took advice from Krumscheid about the header length and used their recommended settings for my cannisters so pretty sure it is ok.

Would be interesting to know what RPMs guys are expecting from this engine and on what props as a benchmark?
