Status: offline 		With the header wrap its important to get wrap around where the smoke is injected. This will ensure the temps stay up enough 4 good smoke. Where ever the oil hits will cool down. If you need more wrap let me know but I highly suggest you wrap around the smoke injector and up to the exhaust port.

Status: offline 		OK here are the videos, They are unedited and raw... when I ran smoke the first time I had the flow rate set to high and it didn't smoke as much because the smoke fluid was just cooling off the header, also I didn't let it get hot enough.

This is one with the fish scale, the scale is not a digital one. I went out later and got a digital one and it maxed out at 32lbs, Pro Zinger 22x10, 32/1 lawnboy, second tank.

This last one is of the smoke system after I messed with the smoke flow for a minute and dialed it down to about 55% of max at full throttle. I also let the header heat up a bit.

Status: offline 		Tomorrow I'm going to try and get some readings with the PT Model 23x8 carbon fiber prop and the Mejzlik 23x8 carbon fiber prop. The PT model prop weighs 4.8oz and the Mejzlik weighs 6.2oz They both are very nice props. here is a picture to compare...

I went out today with the Mejzlik 28x8 today and got a few numbers... I wasn't running it on this prop for long because I didn't want to much load on the engine since its not broken in. With that said, the RPMs dropped from the pro zinger 22x10 (7110rpm) Mejzlik-6800 max... with the digital fish scale it was pulling about 33lbs, once a few gallons of gas and this engine will hang with the best.

These numbers were at peak... as the engine heated up it was around 6690-6700rpms and pulling about 30-31lbs lbs average. I did the scale readings the same as in the video but with the digital one. once it got up to the high number I pressed hold and thats what it read. (Do to the unorthodox way of me holding the scale all the numbers posted could be + or - a pound. That is why I say about and average.)

once I get a chance to go out again I will confirm those numbers...

Status: offline 		Well, I'm 96% done with the plane now. I'm just waiting on the rest of my decals from Scott's RC Graphics. I have to do a few other minor adjustments to the plane, like put the heat to it, and cut the hole in the cowling for the Carb needles, and make sure everything is secure. Once I get it all dolled up I will take pictures and post them. Then its up to mother nature to give me some good weather to take it out to fly.

My field wont be flyable for a few weeks so I'm going to try and go to one of the fields with paved runways so I can get some video posted soon.

Status: offline 		OK, went out today again and ran the engine up without the header wrap because is was overheating my header and engine head and causing my RPM's to drop 2 to 300 rpms. With the zinger 22x10 I was getting about 7250 rpms steady. With the Mejzlik 23x8 it was about 6800 rpms steady, and with the PT Model prop it was getting late so there was no sun and couldn't get good readings, It pulled about the same as the Mejzlik though. So far I would say the best prop right now is the Zinger PRO 22x10, it was pulling with the most lbs and rpms. After a couple gallons of gas I'll switch to the PT Model and see how much it has picked up.

Its a new day, and I got some pictures, I ran the 4th tank of gas through it today with everything on the plane checking for anything loose. While I was outside I got some pictures. I'm still waiting for the rest of my decals from Scott, but I have the Power HD ones he did on there.

Status: offline 		Well, you have to look at what all items he saved money on. He saved over $400.00 on servos compared to higher end brands. That alone is another airframe. The RCGF 62cc is only $364.00 (which I should have one by next Tuesday). The plane was probably under $400.00 compared to others at around $450.00 to $650.00. I am working on my first 50cc Yak and I would like to know what are the real benefits of running a canister compared to a pitts style muffler.

Someone looking to get a inexpensive, good, true 30% airplane and you already have the TX and RX, this is another great package that can be done for under $1100.00
I had this and it was a great combo. I had different servos, but these Power HD's seem to be a good choice.

On the Richmodel Yak, do change the landing gear to a one piece aluminum unit right from the get go.
The two piece fiberglass ones will crack and are not even close to being as strong as a one piece gear will be.
Save yourself the trouble and do it whe building.
I had mine under 15lbs without the smoke system in it.

No problem 2robinhood,

Its always good to know that there are other options for good 3d planes out there. I had a yak something like that last season and I spent a little less than that ( I had a lot of BS avionics in it! ). I also had the RCGF 65cc engine in mine, it was 299.00 Shipped from PeakModel Ran good. The plane flew great until I was landing one day and stalled it out from not paying any attention and it did a cartwheel! . AK has some good deals on the Richmodel planes. There are more less expensive options out there now if you would like to get into giant scale fying on a budget without sacrificing quality. I do plane on getting another yak sometime in the near future because they are really good if your into 3D.

Overall these 30% line of planes from Cyclone are pretty good. I will give a summary of the goods and the bads when I get off tomorrow, can't comment on the flying characteristics because I haven't taken it up yet, Still waiting on the weather to get a little better. We are in the 30's right now.

If you have any cost cutting suggestions/products for these planes feel free to post I'm always open to new Ideas and ways to save!

They say the benefit of the can, other than noise reduction is that it puts out 20 to 30% more power. Some say they take away power, Don't know if thats true or not, I have not run this engine without the can. Also the can helps in the mid-range.

Keep in mind that you could save almost a pound in weight with a 50cc ( DL ).
I am in the middle of testing a new ( prototype ) CRRC GP50R. 40oz. of fuel run through it and turning a Mejzlik 22 X 8 @ 7400rpm and a JFX 23 X 8 @ 6900+rpm.
Comes in at 3.6lbs and should be under $400.00 when released.

Status: offline 		Yes you can save almost a pound of weight with the DL/DA engines. But I got this one because of the extra torque you get out of the 62cc engine . With the 62cc engine you also can spin a bigger prop than a 50cc 24x8-10, for better 3D performance (more prop wash, slowing the plane down faster, etc...) With the size and wing area of this plane the extra OZ from the engine will not effect wing loading as much, It will still be a floater. I also have 4 NiMH batteries (2x 6v 2300mah 2x 4.8 1400mah) in this plane and a smoke system and thats an extra pound or more plus the weight of the Can and header, and a Nylon Black spinner With a solid Aluminum backplate (at least 6oz), and the plane still comes out at a little under 19lbs... You can easily get it down to 17lbs by just using the standard muffler and the regular 3 lithium Ion bat system and a carbon fiber or lightweight aluminum spinner.

The 65cc Weighs more than this engine, and I had it in a smaller plane and it still was a floater. with lots of power.
