I bought the venom 7.2 1800 nicd battery for my traxxas ezstart. The guy sold me a dynamite mega 1 charger. The venom battery clearly states "Do not trickle charge" and I think thats all that the mega 1 does. Should I try using it and if not which charger should i get?

If that is a timer charger then it only trickles after the fast charge and you can pull the batttery as soon as the timer is done if you do not want to trickle. Trickling will not hurt your battery.

Yea, I double checked the manual and youre right. The only problem i have now is how to discharge the battery since its a nicd. Its in the ezstart and its at 6.4v and the ezstart motor turns slowly. Can I charge it when its at 6.4? Will it only charge up to 6.4? How do i discharger it? If I try to use it up with the ezstart then it will probably get hot and destroy itself.

6.4 is already discharged. Can charge and go. I find timer chargers just fine normally , but an easy-start application really needs a peak charger (auto-shut off) becasue it's hard to keep track of how much you've used the starter and you don't want to be caught with it discharged. Witha cheap peak charger you can top it off each time and it'll shut off when the pack is full. If you can get by with runnig the starter all the way down each time then you can easily estimate it because you will know when it's empty (like it is right now running slow)
