The complete interior of the fuse from the turbine mounts back to the last bulkhead (and the wing recess) was covered in BVM Heat Blanket and High Temp Aluminum Tape. Here you can see the first section that I applied. This may seem unnecessary but in the event of a hot start or fire it will be worth it to me. As you will see I over protected all the wiring as well. To me this is a small weight penalty to pay for piece of mind.

I originally built the stab to plan and had the servo leads exiting on each side of the stab but changed my strategy. I added a grommet to the bullhead and then covered the fiberglass sheathing with aluminum tape. Here you can see how the two leads pass through the bullhead and forward toward the tube that I installed.

I made a tunnel for the elevator and rudder servo leads out of cardboard tube (used for model rockets) and covered the tube with aluminum tape. The servo leads which are covered in the fireproof sheathing pass through this tube toward the forward fuse. Any part of the fireproof sheathing that is not inside the tube also got a wrap of aluminum tape. This may be way overkill but this baby is built to last!!

Ok Time for the final installation of the turbine. The upper bypass is installed with a drop of CA on the wood screws. The turbine is installed with bolts, washers and lock washers as well as loctite. You can see that the bypass cover has been precisely milled for the fuel lines and electrical connections. Rubber grommets were installed. Notice how tightly the bypass fits over the turbine mounting plates. again I wanted the tightest bypass setup possible. It took it as a personal challenge to get this right. I cant tell you how hard it was to fit all of this in. The full bypass and saddle tanks challenged me! By the way as other have noted, I needed to warm the inlet joiner with the heat gun then immediately put the wing on. That molded the inlet joiner to the shape of the wing and now the wing fits perfectly with no resistance.

Between the main tank, saddles, UAT and my hopper tank I will be carrying 140 ounces of fuel. I estimate I have about 10 ounces of unusable fuel in the main tank so I installed an 11 ounce hopper tank. Since I am using a high flow fuel system with all lines 3/16 ID I needed to modify the stopper components to fit the oversized brass tubing. Her are the parts ready to be installed. Note I am using one of the jet tech heavy clunks here as well. these babies are awesome!

Here she is almost done! I still need to install the retract / brake servos and valves, receiver, air tanks and valves, switch and batteries. The build thread is now up to date. It took me almost 6 hours tonight to update this thread. Between building and documenting all this, I am really burned out!! I hope this jet is done soon.

Looks fantastic. Well documented build and its been a pleasure following your thread.
I can confirm that my UF hit the skies here in the UAE for the first time last weekend and I was very surprised on how slow she came in. No funny tenancies noted just yet. Only done one flight and busy doing a complete check over to make sure all is ok. So far so good.

William

Continuing to run my wires up front, I decided to cover them with Dreamworks Snakeskin sheathing. This picks up where my fiberglass sheathing stops. I like this since I not only have thermal / chaff protection but its neat and tidy too. Please note that the bundle of 4 wires for my flaps and ailerons do not have the Snakeskin the full span. This is because I wanted flexibility on both the receiver end and wing joint so that I could neatly tuck the wires as needed.

Here is a look at my equipment tray. I cut this out of aircraft ply. Each screw has a drop of CA on it for security and you will also note that each screw is covered with retract tubing. This provides anti chaffing and extra security for the screw. It is also handy since you can route the wires between the screw and the servo case. To avoid drilling more holes in the tray for zip ties, I used a dab of goop on the zip tie heads underneath the tray. This keeps the bundles of wires from moving around. Also shown is my pre-flight checklist. I printed this out and then laminated it. It is held in place with double sided tape. I go through the checklist before each and every flight.

When you used the carf paint, did you spray it ? what did you use for a reducer (I'm assuming since it's a 2 part paint it's an epoxy paint). I maidened mine last weekend (same color scheme as yours) I just need to finish a few things up. don't really like the battery pockets had a battery come out on a flight need a way to strap them in tight.
