CARF REBEL 2m
#76
Dave, I'd consider opening up one or 2 of the black squares on the fuse side ahead of the inlets (the black trim scheme) and also look at adding a NACA duct on the bottom.
I'd run a bell-mouth and no intake ducting (or perhaps very short ones from each side).
I don't know how much intake area there already is, so I don't know how much extra area is needed; (do you have one to measure?)
These are just some
ideas and may not be feasible.
I have the CARF Viperjet and marvel at the lightness and strength. Gotta be an EDF option on this one, somehow....

I’m sure Daniel gives an inlet area on his website, on the CARF Hawk I was worried it would be a little on the small size so I opened up all the ducts, put slots in the inlet splitters, knew the nose doors were open at take off etc. I’m sure you can find away if you want it EDF. With the inlet duct fitted to the fan it smooths out any air just before it gets to the fan

I have CM Jets tanks in mine, but I have the Pirotti version. When I was putting it together I planned to install smoke from the beginning. So, I deliberately made the wing bolts accessible from the wheel well. I added a ply block to the tank side/inside and hysol'd blind nuts. It's simple and quick to do.

That's not larger, that's smaller!!!
Stock tank is 3.6 liters. If you meant 3.9L instead of 2.9L, then no, no issue. In fact CMjets sells a 4L kevlar tank for it:
