Yeah, the 1 7/8 is an odd size. The 2 inch is probably the best bet. Too bad the plane is already painted. You could have done some creative blending.

For tail filets I used balsa triangle stock. 3/8 or 1/2” and blended it in. Nothing fancy.

i also molded the cowls in. I used blind nuts to mount the motors...

Sorry I didn't look close enough at your pictures. Your filets have shrunk or lifted which ever way you look at it. You don't have much choice but to continue the blend even if it extends the filet...
