Hey Lonestoner,

Great looking US1000. It's reminiscent of Dave Brown's old Illusion and Tiporare. Good luck with your maiden.

Hey Rich,

I feel like such a heel about not finding your questions until now..........[&o] Personally, I don't think it would be necessary to go with a HV system with LiPo batteries in the...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Hello Rich,

I recently had an Ultrasport 1000 with an OS 160 FX. If you decide to go the analog route with your servo's, I used a Futaba 9202 on each elevator half, a 9202 on each aileron and a...

Hey Tubthumper,

Welcome to the Brotherhood.......:D IMHO, I don't think flaperons will be necessary if you are going to do the flap modification. However, you may also want to do the aileron...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Well,

It's looking better and better all the time. We had our anual spring club Fly-In on Saturday and my friend brought me my Ultrasport 60. Needless to say, I was one happy camper. I did...

Mustangman40,

You are absolutely right about using electric retracts. I have a pair of the original Lado electrics that I had in my H9 Miss America. The wing mods should be pretty simple. I...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Well,

"Somone" was looking out for me this weekend. I was sitting at my flying field yesterday in the 25 knot winds. I was the only person there and I was just getting ready to leave when a...

I think that a fitting tribute to Mike would be if EVERYONE in the brotherhood who has an Ultrasport in flying condition would take it out to their local flying fields this weekend and...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Ken,

Welcome to the brotherhood. The OS 75AX will be awesome in your Ultrasport. Regarding the retracts, all radio manufacturers make servo's specifically for retracts (the travel distance is...

Good afternoon Fellas,

I have been able to sneak in some time to work on my US1000, but I've run into a slight problem here and there which is slowing me down. Evidently I didn't look close...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

MikeDoug,

IMHO, I doubt you would be able to fit a DLE20 in your Ultrasport. That rear mounted carb would give you fits. Especially with the fuel tank just on the other side of the firewall. ...

SushiSeeker,

If you can find MinnFlyers excellent US60 build thread, he added flaps to his and went into enough detail so anyone can do the same thing. I added them to mine too, so I'd say go...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Ok, ok. Maybe it won't work for everyone, but I fly off of a grass field and all of my four strokes are inverted.
I thought the only "unforgivable" way to build a US60 is building it without...

Alfred,

If I ever get around to building my US60, I'm going to make one minor change. I am going to mount my motor inverted (straight down). I too have a YS91 for mine so fuel tank location...
