You have given me new inspiration. I have a US 40 about the same age. It was one plane I built and flew back then that Never crashed. Over the years I have let it sit as I had an OS 45 pump and the...

I have made some pretty detailed graphics with the windex method. I have a Tiger head on a 4 star 40 with tiny pieces of monokote trim that haven't come off in a few years of flying. Using the...

I’m pretty sure I had/ have Dave Brown retracts on my old 40.
I built the 60 and bought the retracts that were designed by Minnflyer from this board, and were sold through 3DX hobbies. They are...

Which answers your other question about cost. I would love to try electrics on my next Ultra just to not have to get the servo linkage adjusted right, but for myself I can't justify buying retracts...

I still have my old/first/original Ultra Sport 40. It is from the mid to late 80s. I had been flying for over 10 years by then. Every plane I had owned up to then, had been in a minor or major...

I repeat, I had no problem with my retracts, and I have had more than one plane with retracts. You can't make a blanket statement like that as not everyone experiences the same problems or conditions...

As far as flaps. Before mine crashed due to an elevator servo failure a couple of years ago, (yep, it really wasn't pilot error this time)
I had built my 60 with flaps and retracts. All worked...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I think it's a good idea to use something like the Ultra Sport to try new ideas on. like the liquid sheeting. If you mess up, you're not out thousands of dollars and you still have an airplane that...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

TJ,
I don't think you will be disappointed with the performance. I thought mine seemed heavy with the retracts, two aileron servos, and the Big SuperTigre 90, but I don't think it affects the...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

One of the reasons many of us bought the kit after it was reissued, rather than the ARF or some other sports plane was because we like it the way it is. They got it right the first time. I...

For Gosh sake, don't cover it Pearl BLue or Metallic Teal. I have a one of each, a SuperSportster and an Ultra Sport. Those colors make the planes look great on the ground, but they are invisible...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

I have 90Âş retracts and there is no way just by looking that you would know they aren't straight down. 85Âş would look very obviously wrong. Even though you can see the dihedral, it appears to...

Yeah, I love coming up with different designs when I cover planes. SInce I discovered the WIndex method of cutting the Monokote, it opens up a lot of possibilities.

It’s a SuperTigre G90. ...
