RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Looking Good, KaP2011! It sounds like you had a good time.

Did the retracts work out OK for you? Do you know what rpm you're turning with that prop?

Thanks Saito 18,

Not as handsome and elegant as yours but at least these old eyes may be able to see it in the air....

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Here's my version of the US40+. For some reason the camera really washed out the green trim. In real life it is much greener, less blue.

Hobbico retracts
Flaps
OS 70 Surpass II

I hope to...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

KaP2011,

The OS engine site lists the weight of a .61 SF as 19 oz. and the .91 Surpass II as 22.6 oz. Do you know how much weight you had to add to balance the .61? If it was about 3 oz. you will...

Yukonflyer,

Your leading edge treatment is very realistic! What material did you use?

r/coldie,

Nice plane! That thing does great with the TT 60. And with the gear deployed, too!

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

The big brown truck dropped off this cowl for my US 40+ and one for a future Super Decathlon. They're from Fiberglass Specialties and they look very good. A little pricey but not something I could...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

From what I have read on this forum, the man was a well respected talent and a cornerstone of the Ultra Sport Brotherhood.

Some sort of tribute is in order...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

AmishWarlord,
That's an interesting concept. Is the material balsa? Have you been able to do compound curved surfaces?

KaP2011-

Your plane looks great; neat and clean. Have you been building long?

Thanks for the tip on the sheeting. I'll be careful.

The reason I'm putting in the OS 70 is that I just recently...

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***

Well, my Ultra Sport 40+ kit arrived today. May I claim #131?

The kit looks good other than the cowl, which is rather deformed. Looks like fiberglass is the way to go.

So here's the tentative...
