Exhaust kits are available to fit almost all size Mustangs from 1/7 scale up to 1/4 scale ... see below.
These exhaust manifold kits will make your Mustang stand out above all the rest as no other single accessory will. The Mustang's exhaust system is one of its most distinctive features, yet it's very hard to do right. With one of these kits on your Mustang they will look right because they are right.
Developed from reputable scale sources, each exhaust set is as close to scale as practical. Stacks are spaced exactly and at the correct angles rearward and downward. There is small precision relief around the base of each exhaust stack that creates the illusion that the shroud is hollow. All this is built into the cast shrouds along with depth stops for the kit's pre-cut brass exhaust stacks.
You'll have to paint exhaust streaking on the fuselage however - these non-functional exhaust systems just look real.
The kits can be installed either during construction or after your Mustang is finished. Attached to the surface of the cowl, the manifolds normally won't interfere with the mounting of the cowl or with your engine installation. With some modifications they can be mounted inside full glass cowls for additional realism. If you want, the base of the exhaust stacks can be opened into the engine compartment to vent additional cooling air (on most kits). The Top Flite GS Mustang surface mount kit adds approximately 2 ozs (total) compared to the vacuum formed kit parts.
Each kit includes everything needed for installation including a pair of cast resin shrouds, brass exhaust stacks pre-cut to length, comprehensive illustrated instructions, alignment jigs (where needed), material used for forming the bands on the tips of the exhaust stacks - even a tool for masking the exhaust stacks for painting. Assembly and installation is straight forward and fully explained in the illustrated instructions, leaving you time to spend time painting them as realistically as you want.

Top Flite Giant Scale (1/5 scale) $35 Mustang - all w/ glass cowl. This kit also fits the Gold Series kits with the balsa top cowl. The shrouds can be surface mounted or mounted from inside the cowl (inside mounting requires modification to the front fuselage sides).
Versions are also available to fit the 1/5 scale Platt (81" span), (Pica 89" span TBA), Hangar 9 '150', Century Jet Models and Aerotech kits.
