Tygon between the tank, UAT, and pump.... Bad news there....

His fittings appear to be barbed and the yellow tubing should be okay.
The soft Tygon tubing is not good to be used with push in fittings like Festo.

It is a very nice build.

I tend to agree with desertlakeslfying on this. It is not wrong to use tygon, the problem is that it could be more susceptible to collapsing. If you were to end up in a situation where there is more demand on the suction side, the festo tubing would tolerate it better. (think of a straw in a milkshake vs fluid) Examples of more demand could be an obstruction (complete or partial) or just inherently built into the fuel system. Like installing multiple tanks in series or using small (non high-flow) vents & fittings, etc... But that can all be ruled out by testing it well. Definitely a nice build!

Note: the tygon use on barbs vs festo (push) fittings is pretty well documented. I don't think there is any debate on using barbed fittings only with tygon.

Tygon isn’t even metric so without it being too soft it does not fit properly...

Happy to report a successful maiden and a further 3 flawless flights at Henley Aero Modellers. This plane has no bad vices whatsoever. Thanks for the advice on the fuel tubing guys. I am going to change it out for Festo.

Looking for advice: I purchased a rebel hot a while back and quickly realized I should have gone with the 2m classic size because I absolutely love how it flies just wish it was a little bigger.

I now want to buy the classic but fear I will wish I had just gone with the pro instead.
For those that have both or have flown both, would you suggest the classic or the pro.

Pros And cons to either size ?

I have flown both and prefer the 2m Classic. For me the balance had to be pushed back too far on the Pro to get the ‘feel’ I wanted

I have the "Pro" version and I totally enjoy the jet. It flies like it is on rails balanced at the trailing edge of the wing tube. I am actually considering getting a second Pro. I have been to a few events that had all versions flying except the XL version and I was impressed with how well all the smaller versions flew, and their owners were enjoying the birds.

I don't think you would go wrong with either version. But I do like how the bigger version can break the fuse in two for easier handling.

Anyone know a source for the JP legs for the Rebel Hot? CARF's prices are high. I needed an actuator for one gear and CARF wanted $80. I got it for $29. I have a set of new JP120's from a Joker that are a too long for the Rebel Hot. So, I'm looking for a source to get them from .

Getting kits from Germany post Brexit is not at all straightforward, this one has taken its time but finally here. Colour swap to Yellow ( it look lime because of the lights in my shop) looks great in the flesh. Std for us JetCat P-130Rx, MAP bubble trap from std CARF Tank and Powerbox Mercury.
JP gear also.

It’s actually the std yellow. The customer had a Cayman Viper in this yellow, which suited his ‘ageing’ eyes and I convinced him this would be good to see with the dark underside and light top.
I’m sure he will be happy with it when I get it to him.

Been working on the yellow Rebel for the customer and found that unlike the Hott the CARF tailpipe won’t install from the front unless you notch the rear of the turbine rails about 5/16 either side about 2” long. Then it sides under the rails and pops up into position
