Well done!
What's really interesting is when you compare those compensations against the mean & median incomes for Muncie and for the entire state. I used . Last time I checked, they're in the top 5% or higher.
Here's link to IRS data by zip code, state, etc. Latest data is for 2013, but shouldn't be a problem to go pull IRS 990 data for the same salaries for 2013.

Thank You TampaRC , Model Aviation magazine sounds like it fits right in with my notions of what graphics would be so that sounds reasonable .
Now , I don't ask this to needle or start any kinds of trouble ; Can you tell me just cause I'm curious and want to see what your seeing what you find interesting about the report ? Is it that Bob's position is unpaid ? Is it the mil for the mag ? I'm just looking to see if I am missing something interesting but coming up empty ? Like I said , no challenge here , just want to see what I may be missing ?

Did you see "Net unrealized gains (losses) on investments? Part XI, line 5: -$838,620
Looks like they offset about $200K of that through inventory ($100K) and another ($100K in sales).

Also looks like they're losing over $1 million annually on MA magazine.
Part VIII Statement of Revenue, line 2b, "Aviation Magazine" = $1,153,233
Part IX, Statement of Functional Expenses, line 24A, "Aviation Magazine" = $2,597,872
So MA lost $1,444,639 in 2014. If you have 120,000 paying members, that's $12 bucks a member!

I'm sorry Franklin but I don't understand this post because I'm not really good with finances , in fact I've been described as being like "A Sailor or shore leave" with money by a friend who was a Sailor and I always took that as a compliment . Anyway , am I seeing that we lost $838K but only really lost $638K in after tax money because of this $200K "offset" ? Remember , your talking to a Mechanic here and not a tax consultant , so you may well have to club me over the head with your point if you want it to sink in

Ah , Ok . Thank You for that . And yes sir I will agree it looks kinda weird that the lesser positions should pay into the $100Ks but the number one spot should go unpaid . Can anybody state a logical reason why this pay oddity is built into the system ?

looks like I am wrong. Researching non profit corps, the salaries are at least 50 percent less.
Franklin, I have to differ on your cost of the magazine comment. Going by what was reported in the AMA official audit, the magazine for the year 2014 did the following:
Rev: 1,114,928
Cost: 1,733,819
Loss/profit: -618,891 (Loss)
This is not including sport pilot. Sport pilot on it's own is profitable.
I can only help but wonder if that 600k loss is due to the AMA Expo trade show? I'm not sure where the liabilities (expenses) are placed for the trade show.

Except that in a profit making corporation, it's not uncommon for Exec compensation to be tied to corporate performance. I would like to see it compared against other similarly sized non-profits...say total revenue in the $14M range.

I'm curious, where do you get the $1.7M in cost for magazine, when they list it on the Expense form as $2.5M? Where does the extra $800K come from? Not saying you're wrong, just want to understand.

Oh yea , Tampa already said it's the magazine , perfect description of Graphics to me . If the magazine really is loosing money I'd like to see them fix that , I do like reading it specifically for the reason some folks say they don't like reading it , I like reading about all the other flying types that I myself don't fly , the control line carrier landing and 100% accurate scale RC plane models mostly but there are others as well .
