RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Thanks Ed. It was a great airplane. It was built a long time ago, as i recall it was the late 80's or very early 90's. Watching yours come together sure makes me want to build another one.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Attached are some scanned pictures of the old B-25. I believe there are some other pictures around with more detail on the cockpit items. In the first picture, there is a foam pad in the upper left,...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Fella's, i will be glad to post the pictures of the cockpit detail. Give me a day or two to dig out the old photos and get them scanned.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

I made mine out of bits and pieces of balsa sheets, blocks, sticks, thin plywood, aluminum strips and rods, small electrical wire. You can use your imagination and come up with some really cool...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Not to step on your thread at all but sometimes it helps me to see the subject i am working with paint on it instead of bare wood.
Here is a picture of mine flying. One of the few digital pictures...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

I cheated on the flaps, i just made flat surfaces for the leading edges and hinged at the bottom. [8D]

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Awesome Ed. It is looking more like a B-25 every day. Don't you just hate building something then having to take a saw to it?.... :)

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Looks great Ed. Really like your crutch mounting idea. I used 1X pine lumber and it was very limiting as to how many stringers you could add.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Great work Ed. Seperate servos is the way to go on the flaps. For me, when scratch building, thinking about the next step(s) (scratching your head :D ) is about as time consuming as the building.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Mr. Ziroli knows what he is doing, i don't believe you will have anything to worry about.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Ed, you are coming along great. Mine was built as a one piece wing. Is 12" per panel enough? Just checking.....

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Ed, i cannot remember what i did with the rear of 5 & 7, i did leave 8 for final set up with the outer panels before gluing. As a side note, i did build mine as a one piece wing. It worked out ok but...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Looks great Ed. As i recall i did basically the same thing. After painting the wire was slid in and a spot of epoxy was added to secure it from sliding out.

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

Just thought of another minor modification to the vertical fins. I added two 1/8" dowels through the fin sheeting into the horizontal stab mounting blocks. I did hear another Z B-25 where that joint...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

That is thick material for the average laser cutter. The picture does remind me of something. One of the elders (he is in his mid 80's now) suggested that i cant the vertical stabilizers inboard at...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

One suggestion is to keep the tail as light as you can. I don't know what engines you are planning on but i used O.S. 1.08's, they are pretty light and i ended up with 3 pounds of lead in the nose. I...

RE: Ed's Ziroli B-25 Build

This is one of my favorites. I built the 101 shortly after the plans were release and before the 118 became available. It is a great building project and also a great flying plane. Mine is my avatar,...
