A G-62 would really motivate that airplane. With an APC 20x15, I would expect 140mph or better. Problem is it's a bulky engine, as well as heavy and would require major surgery on the cowl.

You might try a lower pitch prop as well. There's a guy in my area that runs 8" of pitch on his Spitfire for the exact same reason.

Ditto. A P-38 with removable outer wing panels and set up for a pair of 20cc, or a larger version for a pair of 35cc engines would be a sure buy for me.
