Your eyes are not deceiving you Bob. The Spitfire does not have scale dihedral nor do the TF Mustang, P-47, or FW-190. The P-40 looks better to my eye but it may or may not be correct either.

Many, many Mk.IX's were built with clipped wings and the original short chord, rounded rudder as well. In fact you can find almost any combination of wing/rudder/canopy if you look hard enough!

No, I don't want nor expect a "scale master arf for $49". I do have plans, balsa, and I do lots of building thank you very much. And I'm pretty sure I have just as much right to express my opinion...
